We visit Montana every year, twice a year and have been for almost 10 years. We have a friend there that has a sign above their cabin door that says, "I wasn't born in Montana, but I got here as fast as I could." And I think about that sign all the time and how it feels like we are coming home every time we visit. And we always say, "if our jobs were there... if there was more family..." everything is so far apart, it is hard to imagine leaving Oregon where everything we need is so close. But, I know we will get there someday - maybe when we retire, maybe for long vacations - but we will make it there soon! For now, we make our "home" and at our friend's house - where we pet the horse, watch the kitty search for mice in the snow, the mule deer graze and the mountain weather and its constant mood changes. Wild Horse Plains, Montana - our home away from home.
